These are wonderful books:

Enlightenment Now by Steven Pinker.  A robust and much needed defense of reason, science, humanism (even better, sentientism?) and progress.

Better Angels of Our Nature by Steven Pinker.  Humans are less violent than they have ever been.  We need to keep improving. We also need to extend our humanism to sentientism and radically reduce our violence towards other sentient beings.

The Beginning of Infinity by David Deutsch.  Anything possible is achievable with the right knowledge.

A New Kind of Science by Stephen Wolfram.  The universe is computation – a multi-dimensional, breathtakingly complex, cellular automata.
